'THE HUMANITY OF GRACE' - A sermon by Carlton D. Pearson (Contemporary Service)

The sermon was delivered on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Carlton D. Pearson, Affiliate Minister. DESCRIPTION The idea of grace tends to trigger religious thoughts of a God who measures grace through sympathy and a kindness. In a non-religious sense, grace is one reflecting the same traits of sympathy and kindness as entirely human, evolving and including benevolence, simple elegance, and refinement of movement or mind. Grace and graciousness is a culture and characteristic we embrace and encourage as a spiritual community here at All Souls. We begin 2019 with an emphasis on grace through January, projecting it into the entire year. Join me to make the start of the year a freshly inspired reality. 'BEGINNING AGAIN... IN LOVE' - A sermon by Rev. Barbara Prose (Humanist Service)

The message was delivered on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Barbara Prose, Executive Director of Ministry, at the Humanist Service. DESCRIPTION According to Dogen Zenji, the 12th-century founder of Soto Zen Buddhism, reality is created and destroyed 6,400,099,980 times a day - or around 70,000 times a second. Modern science agrees with this ancient wisdom. The Higgs boson, or “God particle,” the building block of the universe, exists for only a millionth of a millionth of a millionth of a millionth of a second. This means that life is in a constant state of refreshing itself, suggesting that we can do the same. This is one way to understand grace. Can we accept and surrender to what is constantly becoming, allowing our minds and our relationships another chance ... to begin again ... in love? 'WHAT’S SO AMAZING ABOUT GRACE?' - A sermon by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar (Traditional Service)

The sermon was delivered on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister. DESCRIPTION One of the most wonderful and potentially problematic ideas in religion is grace. It implies that no matter what a person has done, that person can still enjoy the gift of grace. Most people prefer a world in which people who do wrong face the negative consequences of their actions. Grace, it would seem, flies in the face of justice. It begs the question, “What’s So Amazing About Grace?” SUBSCRIBE TO AUDIO PODCAST: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/all-souls-unitarian-church/id193096943 WATCH THIS SERMON ON YOUTUBE: https://youtu.be/OLLKEpL5vf0 SUBSCRIBE TO OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=allsoulsunitarian GIVE A DONATION TO HELP US SPREAD THIS LOVE BEYOND BELIEF: http://www.allsoulschurch.org/GIVE or text LOVEBB to 73256 LET'S CONNECT: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/allsoulstulsa Twitter: https://twitter.com/AllSoulsTulsa All Souls Church Website: http://www.allsoulschurch.org
