Best of BAM: Incarnation, Imago Dei, and Q&A

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank discusses an article he wrote in the current edition of the Christian Research Journal on the incarnation, answering the question as to whether incarnation is logically incoherent. It is more than intoxicating to reflect on the reality that as Christ is incarnate in the image of humankind, so humanity in Christ is being refashioned in the image of God. Far from being reproductions of God, human beings are more correctly portrayed as reflections of God. It is liberating for believers to revel in the reality that in the consummation of all things God will completely restore the Imago Dei in fallen humanity. Had the incarnate Christ not come in the image and likeness of man, there would be no hope for humanity to be refashioned in the Imago Dei. Hank answers the following questions: How can I explain to my non-believing friends and family that God has no beginning? Why are there so many laws listed in Exodus and what are they meant to accomplish? How should you approach someone from another denomination who refuses to have a dialogue? What are your thoughts on paranormal activity?

Special Q&A to Answer Callers Who Didn’t Make It on the Air

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank addresses questions from recent callers who didnt get to ask their question on the air because of time constraints. The first question is, How does God know the future, if the future does not yet exist? Its important first to establish that from beginning to end, the Bible teaches the omniscience of God. In the words of Isaiah, God knows the end from the beginning. As such, Gods knowledge is exhaustive, including even knowledge of those things yet in the future. But then how does God know the future? Keep in mind that Gods omniscience is to us certainly a great mystery. We dont even understand how it is that we can know what we know, let alone truly comprehend Gods omniscience. Wed have to be omniscient to truly comprehend His omniscience! Nonetheless, there are several models that philosophical theologians have proposed to help explain how God knows the future. Hank mentions one defended by William Lane Craig. Hank also addresses these questions: Was Peter the first pope? Does God orchestrate the weather?

Mastectomies on Girls as Young as 13

On todaysBible Answer Manbroadcast, Hank starts off by saying that he has something that he wanted to bring to your attention on today's broadcast. This morning Hank read an article in theFederalisttitled, "U.S. Doctors Are Performing Double Mastectomies On Healthy 13-Year-Old Girls" by Jane Robbins. In the article, Robbins highlights a trend ofphysicians performing double mastectomies on healthy teen girlssome as young as 13under the justification of gender dysphoria. The article focuses on a study that was funded by theNational Institutes of Health using federal tax money and led by researchers likeDr. Johanna Olson. As Robbins states, "the study is fundamentally skewed toward the conclusions transgender activists desire: it contains no control group of subjects who will be spared these drugs, and will expire after five years, long before many negative effects may surface."

The End of Civilization, and Q&A

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast (09/19/18), Hank discusses an article he read in the National Review that caused all kinds of thoughts to rattle through his mind. The article is titled Democrats, Kavanaugh, and The End of Civilization by Andrew C. McCarthy. In the article McCarthy recalls a story that Judge Robert Bork used to tell about watching Clarence Thomass Senate confirmation hearings. Bork described it in apocalyptic fashionin fact, he quipped that it portended the end of civilization. He knew precisely what he was talking about as he too had been mugged during his own confirmation hearings. As McCarthy put it, with U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, we appear to have reached the metaphorical end of civilization that Bork foresaw. A time in which a Supreme Court nominee is in danger of being disqualified based on unprosecuted, unprovable, and largely unremembered misconduct that allegedly occurred in high school. This sets a dangerous precedent that will eventually lead to decent, qualified people shying away from public service because they would want no part of this blood sport, leaving a vacuum to be filled by the least qualified. Hank answers the following questions: Do we have complete free will? Can God protect us from injury or the evil acts of others? You have been a blessing to me, is there anything that we can specifically pray for you? Im a long-time listener and in 2007, you helped me out of despair after the death of my son. Thank you. How can we hear Gods voice? Whats the best way to study the Bible?

    Holy Scripture, Resurrection, and Q&A

On todays Bible Answer Man broadcast (09/18/18), Hank starts off with the quote of the day in honor of his mother, who went home to be with the Lord early this morning. Hank shares her life versePhilippians 4:4-7. Hank also discusses the great hope of resurrection. All who put their trust in Jesus can be absolutely certain that they will experience resurrection. Christs fulfillment of his promise to lay down his life and take it up again in three days is the guarantee that there is life after life-after-life. Hank answers the following questions: Will we be able to sin in heaven? In Isaiah 11:6 where it talks about the wolf living with the lamb, is it talking about the millennium? Will we experience time between death and resurrection or is it instantaneous?
