    The Infamous Skyjacker D.B. Cooper

    On November 24th, 1971, an unidentified man hijacked a commercial airliner heading out of Portland International Airport in Portland, Oregon. According to reports, the man had checked in as "Dan Cooper" later referred to, by the press, as D.B. Cooper, and purchased a one way ticket to Seattle, Washington. After his list of demands had been met in Seattle, D.B. Cooper let the passengers go but kept the flight crew on board to make his way to Mexico. Somewhere between Washington and Reno, Nevada, Cooper parachuted out of the back of the Boeing 727, never to be seen again.

    The actual identity of D.B. Cooper has mystified the public for decades. To this day his remains have never been found. So who is D. B. Cooper? And will his true identity ever be revealed? Today on Lawyer 2 Lawyer, host Laurence Colletti, guest co-host Jared Correia, and special guest, attorney Mark Zaid, founding partner of Mark S. Zaid, PC., discuss the mystery behind D.B. Cooper.     Justice Anthony Kennedy Retires -- Judge Brett Kavanaugh Nominated for SCOTUS

    At the end of last month, Justice Anthony Kennedy, announced he would be retiring and stepping down effective July 31st, 2018. On the evening of July 9th, President Trump announced his top pick to fill Justice Kennedy’s vacant seat: Judge Brett Kavanaugh currently presides in the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

    This recent news regarding Kennedy’s retirement comes just after the 2017-2018 Supreme Court session. He is also widely known as the "swing vote" in many Supreme Court decisions. So what will happen next and what does this mean for the future? Today on Lawyer 2 Lawyer, guest host Laurence Colletti, Elizabeth Slattery, a legal fellow in The Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, and David Lat, editor at large and founding editor of Above the Law, discuss Justice Kennedy's retirement and Judge Kavanaugh's nomination.     Inside the Trump-Kim Summit

    On June 12, 2018, President Donald Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore in the first summit meeting between the leaders of the two countries. Although the United States and North Korea have a tense history, the two were able to sign a joint statement that would improve relations.

    Illinois Disciplinary Agency's Report on Client-Lawyer Matching

    Last week, the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, better known as ARDC, published its report on client-lawyer matching services and attorneys’ participation in for-profit referral services. On Lawyer 2 Lawyer, host Bob Ambrogi joins Jerome (Jerry) Larkin, administrator of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) and author of the recently-published report, as they take a look at the ARDC's recent report on client-lawyer matching services, lawyer participation in these services, and regulation of for-profit referral services.

    Analyzing Eric Schneiderman: A New York Attorney General's Abuse Allegations

    On May 7th 2018, The New Yorker published a piece written by Jane Mayer and Ronan Farrow about physical abuse allegations by 4 women against New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. Shortly after publication, Schneiderman denied the allegations, but then still resigned.

    On Lawyer 2 Lawyer, host Craig Williams joins lawyer and psychologist Karla Fischer, Joan Meier, attorney and professor from George Washington University Law School, and Julie Owens, a survivor of domestic violence and domestic violence expert witness, to discuss the abuse allegations against New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. They take a look inside domestic violence and sexual misconduct cases and the psychology behind the obvious conflict between Schneiderman’s support of the #MeToo movement and women’s issues on the outside and his private behavior as an alleged abuser.
