Being a Student of the Gun is not about being a novice or beginner. Student of the Gun represents a life’s journey of education, enlightenment and the enjoyment of firearms. Each week Student of the Gun will introduce our listeners to all manner of firearms related topics be they sport, recreation or personal defense. Unlike the television format, through the magic of digital radio, we will have the opportunity to explore topics more deeply rather than just give them a quick glance. Discussions will address both that which is current news in the firearms world as well as traditions and foundational principles. Student of the Gun, a beginner once, a student for life.

SOTG 768 - Thoughts on the Coming Civil War

Yes, the Coming Civil War. Not the Potential, because it is coming, in fact some may say that it has already begun. With the Queen Antifa people out in the street macing people, throwing public tantrums and inciting violence daily, like I said before it may have already started.

Some people on our side say “No, don’t encourage it. Don’t incite or hope for Civil War, because in war Everyone Loses”. For starters, our side are not the ones who want it. The Antifas and Millenials are the ones call and crying for it. All our side is saying, is “Bring it the F on.”

Also during Quiet Time, brought to you by Silencer Shop, Prof. Paul talk about the Form 4 & the Hearing Protection Act. During the Warrior of the Week segment, thanks to our friends at SWAT Fuel, we discuss options for carrying your weapon in a vehicle and options for that. Listen Louder!

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

VICTORIANS are terrified and rightfully so.

Every morning they wake to news of another violent home invasion overnight. A knife held to a pensioner’s throat. Children screaming as masked men hover over their beds. Intruders using crowbars and baseball bats to terrorise homeowners.

In January and February this year, homes were broken into by armed men in Cranbourne, St Albans, Albion, Brighton, Bayswater, Skye, Mentone, Taylor’s Hill, Hillside, Ascot Vale and Geelong.

As the following graphic shows, the incidents are spread across large parts of the state.

Childcare centres are banning toy guns and plastic fake knives to eradicate kids playing violent “warlike” games.

Operators have also been outlawing mock pirate swords, bows and arrows and even Lego weapons, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Their investigation reveals the Australian Childcare Alliance of NSW will survey 1600 centres for policies of this nature.

They’ll be asked if there are currently enough policies and guidelines in place for playing with toy weapons.

The Alliance stepping in could see games like “cops and robbers” banned from the playground.

In a viral Facebook post, a woman claims a man became angry at her teenage son and his friends because one of them was wearing what appears to be a "Make America Great Again" slogan hat.

The San Antonio Police Department announced late Thursday that 30-year-old Kino Jimenez has been arrested and charged with theft. SAPD says that Jimenez was arrested at his home in Universal City without incident.

The altercation reportedly happened at a Whataburger location near Thousand Oaks and Nacogdoches Road, according to the post.

In her post Wednesday, Patricia Spittler asks Facebook users to help identify the "scum bag of the year."

    From www.foxnews.com:

A Texas mother said she didn’t think twice about shooting a would-be carjacker when the man jumped into her vehicle at a Dallas gas station while her two sons were in the backseat.

Michelle Booker-Hicks was at the Shell station along Interstate 35 around 10 p.m. Wednesday when Ricky Wright, 36, attempted to steal her vehicle while she was paying her gas bill, police said. Booker-Hicks told FOX4 Dallas her two sons, ages 2 and 4, were sitting in the backseat at the time.

“I proceeded to jump in my backseat and told the gentleman to stop, to get out the car. He would not get out of the car. He turned around and looked at me. I reached over the armrest to get my glove compartment and that’s when I fired at him once I got the gun from my glove compartment,” Booker-Hicks recalled to the news station.

    From abc7chicago.com:

The hammer attack on a 16-year-old girl at a Near North Side McDonald's was captured on cell phone video by another patron.

A series of video clips show the altercation at the McDonald's at North State Street and West Chicago Avenue Monday night. The man who filmed them, who asked to have his name withheld, was there with his girlfriend at the time. He pulled out his cell phone and recorded the moments after the confrontation began.

"I was kind of lost initially, kind of blacked out once everything started happening," he said.

Hannah Walker, 36, is facing a misdemeanor battery charge. She is seen in the video swinging a hammer at 16-year-old Jasmine Ware, hitting her in the face.

"The only one who seemed to be getting in the middle of it was a security guard," the witness said.

Ware said the woman started fighting her and her friends about their place in line.

    From wtkr.com:

Police Chief Jim Cervera is calling on Congress to pass stricter gun laws like universal background checks.

"All the recommendations that we're asking for are totally reasonable," Cervera said in an interview on Friday.

Cervera recently returned from a meeting with other police chiefs from around the country. He's a board member of the Major Cities Chiefs Association. During the meeting, the group updated its firearms violence policy to include calling for more background checks, banning high capacity magazines, and reinstating the assault weapons ban.

"I'm very passionate about it because I've seen the carnage weapons cause on the street and I see how many weapons that my officers are taking from bad guys every day," he said.

    From www.ammoland.com:

The deadline to register, aka comply, with California's “bullet button assault weapons” registration is this Saturday, June 30, 2018 – see the alert below from GOC.

Also, there’s some interesting food for thought with how the gun industry is being hung out to dry by corporate America. What’s even more interesting, though, is that Americans have bought more guns in the past two months than even our military has on hand. According to the FBI, May was a solid month in gun sales, with over two million background checks being run according to the FBI.

Plus, it’s always good to keep track of anti-gun Leftist Michael Bloomberg, who has pledged to spend $80 million – that’s $80 MILLION, folks – in an attempt to sway the election in November.

That means on average, he’s going to spend roughly $4.2 million anti-gun dollars a week. If this isn’t a direct assault on our rights, then what is? Make sure you are armed, informed and involved this election cycle. Our 2nd amendment rights depend on it!
