554 - 01/08/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - HTC Vive Tracker, Nintendo Switch Is Coming

This past week, MAGFest, the Consumer Electronics Show, and the Hi-Rez Expo all took place. Hadn't heard of that last one? It had the Smite World Championships and the first major tournament for a free-to-play alternative to Overwatch called Paladins, now available on Steam. Over the new year, I played the Jackbox Party Pack 3 with a bunch of my friends, and they've really gotten the party game aspect down. The Awesome Games Done Quick 2017 marathon is going on right now, which is why I've been saying "That's bad RNG" all week. The Nintendo Switch reveal is this week, which means all those rumors can go away...Just hope we can preorder them! HTC announced several Vive accessories at CES - one of which brings parity with the Oculus Rift by having an integrated audio solution. The other device they announced was the Vive Tracker, a tracking unit you can place on any object and have it be tracked in VR. Then we take calls about MAGFest, 2016 games of the year, and what we're looking forward to in 2017.

553 - 12/25/16 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Super Mario Run Released, Looking Back At 2016

On the last show of 2016, we try (key word: try) to take a positive look back at the good things that happened in gaming in 2016. Turns out, it's real easy to be negative. I bemoan the fact that a lot of controllers are now going with non-removable batteries, which is why it was a breath of fresh air when the Oculus Touch controllers used AA batteries that could be swapped out instantly, rather than having to plug them in and recharge them after a few hours of use. Super Mario Run is out, and did so well on the App Store, that investors sold their stock in Nintendo. Then we take calls about sales, about when Nintendo fell out of favor with gamers, Super Mario Run, and Forza Horizon 3. NOTE: There is NO LIVE SHOW on New Years Night, January 1st. See you in 2017!

552 - 12/11/16 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Oculus Touch Arrives, Last Guardian Needs PS4 Pro

Sorry about getting this show up late - there was no show on December 18th, but we WILL be back December 25th. The Oculus Touch controllers have arrived, and are wonderful - once you get them set up. I also talk about the differences between the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift, now that both of them offer a full VR experience. The Last Guardian is out, but apparently you really don't want to play it unless you have a PS4 Pro. Then we take calls about Final Fantasy XV and The Last Guardian.

551 - 12/04/16 Bobby Blackwolf Show - No Man's Sky Advertising Not Misleading, Final Fantasy XV Impressions

The Game Awards and PlayStation Experience happened, and other than Parappa The Rappa's 20th Anniversary release, we don't talk about much of it. I picked up Final Fantasy XV after all, and also watched the Kingsglaive movie and the Brotherhood anime, and give my impressions based on the first few hours of the game. The Advertising Standards Authority in the UK ruled that No Man's Sky's Steam page did NOT mislead consumers. Then we take calls about Ni No Kuni 2, more sales, Overwatch winning GOTY, and Pokemon Sun and Moon for vision impaired gamers.
